Orchid Events - Keiki Club for Beginners
The Keiki Club is for our beginner orchid growers. We meet at a member's home on a weekend afternoon to allow you to view how other members grow their orchids and to ask questions in an informal environment. While designed to meet the needs of our beginner growers, the Keiki Club meetings are enjoyed by all members. Visitors and guests are always welcome!
February 19 - Orchids in Spring 1 - 3 pm
With the spring show season coming up we'll talk about what to look for when shopping for an orchid you're thinking about bringing home. We'll also talk about spring preparations, so your orchids will get the most out of the summer growing season.

March 25 - Spring Repotting 1 - 3 pm
Many of your orchids are sending out new roots. If they need to be repotted, this is the time to do it. We'll show you how to repot your orchids, and there may be some orchid divisions for you to pot up and bring home Bring a 4 and 6 in clay pot, just in case.

April 15 - Orchids Outside the Pot 1 - 3 pm
We'll talk about the differences in caring for a potted orchid vs. one outside the pot. We'll look at the different options available, on a mount, on a plaque, in a basket, etc. and demonstrate how to attach an orchid to its new media-less home.

May 27 - Questions and Answers 1 - 3 pm
We'll have an open question and answer session. Bring any plants you have questions about and get ready to talk about orchids.

June 24 - Repotting Phalaenopsis 1 - 3 pm
It's time to do the unthinkable, cut your flower spike so you can repot your phalaenopsis and let the plant gather strength for next year's blooms.

Summer Hiatus - See you in September!
The Keiki Club is on hiatus during July and August because of the summer heat. We'll meet in September to review your fall preparations. Email us if there is a topic you would like covered at our Keiki Club meetings.
